This 20 year old from Glendronach was released as part of their 12th batch of single cask bottlings which are often highly anticipated and superb.
This is a single cask release of GlenDronach single malt Scotch whisky, aged for 20 years in a Pedro Ximénez Sherry puncheon, distilled in June 1995 and bottled in August 2015 at 52% ABV with a limited release of 691 bottles.

Colour: Rich amber gold. Nose: Light and rich with orchard fruit, apples and ripe oranges with a small hint of cinnamon biscuits. Palate: Leans more towards the honeyed side but a few hints of Sherry manage to sneak through. Golden syrup and fresh fruits harmonize together with rich oak spices and a delicate barley character. Finish: Honeyed barley.

My perfect whisky is a sherried one. This one sits more on the honey'd side of things, but a few juicy hints of Sherry do sneak through. This is one of my favourite from Glendronach. My ultimate fave is the 19 year old however this is my second choice!
