Description

The oldest bottling in the 12th batch of single cask releases from the GlenDronach distillery is this, the 43 year old single malt.

It was matured in a single Pedro Ximénez Sherry butt from February 1972 to August 2015, when it was bottled at 51.1% ABV. Exciting stuff from a highly-anticipated range, just a limited number of 414 bottles were produced.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Warming, with fragrant tobacco. Rich and chocolatey, in stewed plum and raisin as you would have expected after having spent 40 years in a Pedro Ximénez cask.
Palate: Decadent and rich, raisins, flamed orange zest and a generous slice of fruit cake.
Finish: Tobacco notes once again return but this time with a soft, elegant hint of oak.
