The new Glencadam 10 Year Old, was first released in 2008 under the new ownership of Angus Dundee.
Make no mistake, this Glencadam 10 Year Old still stands as a delicate and balanced dram, neither coloured nor chill-filtered so it retains its true flavour. Bottled at 46% ABV.
Please note this bottle comes without original tube.
Nose: Aromatic and fresh. Hay, fruit, gentle wood influence with light vanilla and kick of spice.
Palate: Beautifully balanced with tart fruits, freshly cut hay and delicious vanilla sweetness.
Finish: Long and gentle as it fades out on barley malt and fruit.
crystal clarity to the sharp, ultra fresh barley. Clean, uncluttered by excessive oak, the apparent lightness is deceptive; the intensity of the malt carries it own impressive weight and the citrus note compliments rather than thins. Enticing; immediately zingy and eye-wateringly salivating with a fabulous layering of sweet barley. Equally delicate oak chimes in to ensure a lightly spiced balance and a degree of attitude; longer than the early barley freshness would have you expecting, with soft oils ensuring an extended, tapering, malty edge to the gentle clean oak; sophisticated, sensual, salivating and seemingly serene, this malt is all about juicy barley and balance. Just bristles with character and about as puckeringly elegant as single malt gets.... and even thirst quenching. My god: the guy who put this one together must be a genius, or something...
