This cigar starts off with an apparent spicy taste from the first puff, a slight nutty aroma and flavour gets introduced to the palate which balances out the smoke perfectly.

I would agree the other comments around even burn and smoothness of the cigar but flavour wise a little to peppery for my taste.


I love these cigars. They have an even burn and easy draw with plenty of smoke which is fragrant through the nose. Taste wise I get creamy which develops into sweet notes: liquorice, creme brûlée and marzipan. An excellent smoke.


The Gilbert de Montsalvat is a nice smoke, well balanced at a medium strength. An even burn throughout have made this a very pleasant smoke. I can recommend this for a casual smoke, especially at this very affordable price. Terry (Sticks & Barrel)
