A strong smoke dominated by a pungent characterful, burnt, smokey, flavour derived from the fired leaf.

This blend has been left undressed for all its natural flavours to come through.

1x 10g Samuel Gawith Navy Flake 

The idea of Navy flakes heeds back to the early colonial days of the tobacco world. Back in those days tobacco would be brought back from foreign countries such as American and was soaked in Rum to keep the tobacco from drying out.

This simple blending has been used ever since to add a little something special to a simple blend. While most current Navy Flakes are comprised of only Virginia’s, this offering from Samuel Gawith make use of a little Latakia.

Once you open the tin you are greeted with a brown and black flake, medium in thickness. The aroma rewards your senses with notes of grassy plains with a tangy Virginia taste. The added bonus of the rum bringing a little sweetness while the Latakia making a creamy and smooth smoke.

1x 10g Kendal No. 7 Broken Flake 

The honey dew toppings are enough to add a little extra flavour to the smoke and the use of Vanilla is barely noticeable.

Unlike many of the lakelands from this iconic producers, the topping die down as you smoke, leaving the natural beauty of the tobacco.

1x 10g Kendal Balkan Mixture

The shag-like ready rubbed strands are varying shades of brown comprising of almost yellow to golden brown, hazelnut and nearly black.

This mixture is easy to load into a pipe and catches the flame with ease. It burns cool with plentiful smoke though it's gentle on the tongue.

This could easily be an all day, every day smoke or one you treasure to lift your spirits on a cold, damp day.
