An evolution of The Dalmore house style, this 18 year old expression takes on bolder notes, becoming a more robust and formidable whisky. The perfect after dinner dram.
This great expression from Dalmore has a robust and formidable flavour, thanks to the effects of extended maturation in well chosen wood.
Delicious doesn’t even begin to describe this beauty!
Wood Portrait:
Matured initially for 14 years in American white oak ex-bourbon casks, the spirit is then transferred to 30 year old Matusalem oloroso sherry butts for a further four years.
These sherry butts from the world renowned sherry house Gonzalez Byass are selected exclusively for The Dalmore.
Nose: Fruity and spicy with notes of vanilla, orange zest and potpourri, marmalade and sweet milk chocolate with a chocolate aroma.
Palate: A delicious fireside dram with notes of dark chocolate, rich coffee, raisins, juicy citrus, stewed fruits, old sherry, pepper and nutmeg.
Finish: A long, fruity finish ending on almond, cocoa, citrus fruits, oak and spice.
