Set in the beautiful Perthshire countryside at the gateway to the Highlands, Tullibardine continues to operate in the traditional way, without modern day computer technology, giving visitors a real insight to the whisky distillation process.
A delicious whisky from Tullibardine, released in 2013, it sees the fantastic Highland whisky finished for 12 months in a 228-litre, red burgundy wine casks from Chateau de Chassagne Montrache.
Nose: Spiced with notes of red berry fruit, delicious vanilla and toasted oak.
Palate: A creamy and nutty entry with notes of sweet custard, apple peel, more red berries and sweetness from orange blossom honey.
Finish: Long with plum jam and allspice.
Overall: Spiced and rich with a satisfying influence from the red wine casks.
Jim Murray has scored this Tullibardine 228 Burgundy Cask Finish 82/100 in his 2020 Whisky Bible.
‘No Shortages of bitter chocolate. Flawed but a wow for those looking for a mega dry malt.
