A very desirable Speyside that has been closed for over 20 years ,you don't want to miss this 21 year old.

There will be many opinions referring to the time period of Whisky Production in Scotland that could be referred to as "The Golden Age of Whisky." There is a time however that without doubt was special and considered by many that period.

The whisky made early 60s-70s with direct firing of stills, the abundant use of Golden Promise Barley, a slower more deliberated approach to production and even a more generous portion of malts in blends of the period ,all lead to a treasure of never again to be repeated whiskies.

We refer to this as the "The Golden Era of whisky."

Watch for whiskies from Turmeaus that is identified as such and give it careful consideration when you feel like a rare and special dram."

Tasting Notes

Nose: Floral and zesty, after some time a sweeter note of cereal and hints of coconut cream appears with white grapes and lemon. Always some delicate peat in the background.

Palate: Citrus kick up front, with some mint, then gaining sweetness with some apple juice. Clean and slightly aromatic, overall quite neutral, fading on ginger and oak.

Finish: Neutral. Bitter oak, ginger and some pepper.
