My week started in style with a couple of friends at the Lanseborough cigar terrace on Monday. Premier Cru Chablis, Bolivar Belicosos, Smoked salmon – a perfect combo 🙂

Tuesday and I was back at the Lanesborough again with more friends (Ash, Alan, Tom, Zaff, Mike, Ricky and Chris) for an adios drink with my long-time friend and colleague Mike Mirecki of Cuba Welcome Travel who is off to Cuba shortly to get married (is he mad ?!) Long story short 20 odd bottles of Tatinger Rose Champagne later and a considerable quantity of Monte 2’s, BBF’s, Partagas P2’s, PSD4’s later and I think we all agreed that we gave Mike a good send off! does anything come close to the service or comfort of the Lanesborough? I think not.

The rest of the week was a continuous sampling herf session at the office with friends and clients… it’s a tough job and all that.

Next week we expect some fabulous branded Cohiba and Montecristo humidor to be delivered from Hunters and Frankau. Due to UK legislation we have to sell the humidors complete with a cabinet of cigars but we are going to include the humidors at such a low price I dare not even publish it so you will have to email me for details ! [email protected] (see photos below) Sorry but these are strictly on allocation so first come first served.

Lockers space always available to clients either in London or our other locations for short and long term cigar storage so if you are being ripped off by your existing cigar merchant remember you can get a locker from C.Gars Ltd free of charge if you are purchasing 5 boxes (of 25) Havanas a year. A locker takes 12-15 boxes comfortably and if you want to move your stock we only charge £250 a year. Rest assured as professional Havana cigar specialist we know how to look after cigars – correct relative humidity and temperature 24/7.

This is serious smoking weather, hot ( ish !) days in London and mild evenings – no wonder our cigar sales continue to increase every week.

I enjoyed dinner/drinks/smokes at the packed Lanesborough cigar terrace on Wednesday evening. The Premier Cru Chablis is a comparative bargain(!) and works very well with a good Havana cigar. We smoked our way through Monte 2. Dip 2 and finished with a Partagas P2 🙂

The London humidor is finished – at long last, sorry for the lousy Blackberry photos but at least it gives you an idea of what it looks like. The joke is we are already busted out of space and wondering what the next expansion move is ! At least our clients now easily access their private locker stocks and with a massive central table our auction Lots can easily be viewed (which was previously a bit of a challenge to say the least).

The auction schedule is now updated on the website and tickets are available online in the next day or two. Catalogue listings are being completed in the next few days and will be online for bidding if you can’t make the actual event. It’s going to be an incredible afternoon and evening of herfing and no doubt a few lucky bidders will walk away with bargains!

The Summer Cigar Auction will be held on the 4th July 2011 at the fabulous new and cigar friendly Boisdale restaurant in Canary Wharf and it promises to be quite an event !

We expect to be offering some 250 Lots including mature full and part boxes, pre embargo cigars, limited editions boxes, jars, books and humidors, Davidoff, Dunhill to mention a few!

5.30 pm: whisky and Havana cigar tasting hosted by Mitchell Orchant of C.Gars Ltd and Ron Morrison of Robert Graham Ltd, featuring Seleccion Orchant Havana cigars and award winning Robert Graham single malt whiskies.

6.30 pm: Champagne, cocktails and canapés followed by Cigar auction conducted by Brian Ebbesen.

8.30pm/9.00 pm (approx.) Dinner (exclusive for 50 guests of C.Gars Ltd) and live music from Manolo & The Gypsies (from the original line up of the Gypsy Kings) in in the restaurant and cigars and drinks on the terrace till late.

Due to our understanding of current UK legislation we have to sell tickets for any event that includes cigars being handed out. Please book your tickets early as there is strictly limited availability as well as a guest list – no ticket/no entry.

Cigar of the week has to be the Punch Serie D’Oro no.1 – exclusive to the UK released in 2008 and now a sweet, rich and complex smoke. Try them whilst they are still available as they can’t last much longer

Boisdale Canary Wharf is now fully open I popped in to have a glass of wine and a smoke with Ranald last week and it was absolutely packed. The cigar terrace was heaving with cigars smokers who were enjoying the fabulous weather in this superb cigar friendly venue.

My friend Victor who used to be at Boisdale Belgravia is running the cigar side of the business and is thoroughly knowledgeable and a mine of useful information and advice. The humidor is also well stocked with all Hunters and Frankau standard ranges of Havanas. I tested out a Romeo Short Churchills and it was a delicious smoke. Temperature and humidity in the humidor has stabilized perfectly and the cigars are all in great condition.

The Cigar library has a good range of accessories and is also a very comfortable cigar sampling area. Highly recommended

Next month Hunters and Frankau are holding their Cigar Summer Party on the 23rd June and we are looking forward to the long awaited launch of the 2010 UK exclusive regional edition Flor de Cano short robusto. If you would like us to organize a ticket for this event for you just drop me an email.

Our fabulous new walk in humidor in our London premises is finally complete and stocked up to the roof already. Perfect conditions, client lockers, LED lighting – perfect 🙂 Probably the largest range of premium cigars in the UK 🙂

Our Cigar Auction on the 4th of July is going to be a fabulous event and auction Lots have been arriving nonstop last week. We hope to have them online by the end of this week with the hard copy catalogue shortly before the auction. Bidding as ever available online or at the auction which will be conducted by Brian Ebbesen (ex Christies) at Boisdale Canary Wharf at 6.30 pm . There will be a cigar and whisky tasting before the auction at 5.30 and an exclusive dinner with concert by Manolo and the Gypsies following the auction. Should be a memorable evening. There could well be some bargains to be had at the auction and the quality of English market Selection Havanas we will be selling is the best I have seen yet.
