BBQ Pairings for Beginners

Anthony Rossouw

So, with the warm weather continuing, the BBQ season is in full effect! Now there is nothing I love more in life than long summer days, ice cold beers and freshly cooked meat...well apart from being stood over the grill with a luxury hand-rolled stogie hanging out of my mouth!

Whether it's a prime steak and a rich Cuban Partagas No. 1 Maduro, spicy grilled chicken teamed with a peppery Nub Connecticut or a Gourmet cheese burger set off with a sumptuous Andalusian Bull from LFD; the possibilities are endless!

One particular pairing that is ticking all the right boxes is melt in the mouth BBQ ribs and the unique Drew Estate Kentucky Fire Cured Fat Molly! This 5x56 robusto sized Nicaraguan stick is chocked full of luxurious hickory, maple and oak wood smoked leaves, which gives you a flavour unlike any other, almost reminiscent of old English pipe tobacco.

Offset that with some smothered ribs and you have a true recipe for success! This branch of the infamous Drew Estate MUWAT line stands out as a cigar and becomes a talking point, it fills the air with a smokehouse aroma that really turns heads, be sure to carry an extra stick to your next BBQ, you'll be the most popular person by the grill!Stay tuned for some more pairings coming soon, I'm off to cover everything in sight with BBQ sauce.

Peace and happy herfing.
