Château Puy-Blanquet is a a 25 hectare property located in the heart of Saint-Etienne de Lisse, where the grapes grow in the stunning hillside overlooking the Dordogne valley.
The grape varieties are 75% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon on a clay and chalk soil.
The style is fairly traditional - fresh and fruity with minimal use of oak with only 20% of the crop seeing barrels of which 10% are new.
An intense nose filled with intensely rich fruits, followed by lovely red cherry flavours on the palate, light but pure and persistent with juicy character and soft tannins on the finish.
Best served with lamb and also all roasted or grilled meats and artisan hard cheeses.
Inky ripe merlot fruit drinking very well now – showing ripe damson and plum, with notes of mint, cedar and dark chocolate and a velvety finish.
