Madiran is a Southwest France appelation known for powerful red wines made primarily from the Tannat varietal.
Chateau Fitère has been in the same family since 1760, and Marius Fitère was the leader in the creation of the Madiran Appellation in 1948.
The vines are 40 to 50 years old and are planted on a clay-limestone soil with loose gravel at the surface.
70% Tannat, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon - 12.5 ABV.
