Château La Croix is located in the southeast of the Cannon-Fronsac appellation and consistently produces wines of immense style and charm. It has been owned for several generations by the Dorneau family and today is owned and managed by Michel Dorneau.
The estate consists of 11 hectares of vineyards planted with 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Croix Canon is the second wine of the legendary Saint-Emilion producer Château Canon. At the far end of Château Canon's small 18 hectreacre vineyard is a chapel dating back to the 12 century.
In 2012, they renovated this chapel into the winery that now is dedicated to making Croix Canon to the same standard as the first wine.
Château La Croix produces elegant, harmonious and well-balanced clarets, with the emphasis on purity and finesse rather than brute force. Without doubt one of the best producers of the appellation.
