This stunning Cardhu 12 Year Old is a favourite Highlander, distilled in the 1960's and released in the 70's.
An early bottling of this Speyside malt. It is a key ingredient for the Johnnie Walker blend.
Becoming even rarer this older style bottle has since been replaced with a more dumpy bottle.
Please note as this is a vintage whisky, conditions of bottle/label and liquid level can vary.
Nose: Sweet, full and vibrant, with fresh fruit notes - balancing citrus notes of tangerine and lemon turn into a rich, smooth maltiness with toffee, honey and barley sugar with a hint f spiced clove.
Palate: Sweet and spicy with pears and sweet apples finished with a splash of cream from fresh-toasted oak. This then dries up with a balancing tangerine sharpness, before soft, smooth fruit syrup emerges with a soft oak intensity never far away.
Finish: Relatively long and creamy, spicy-sweet. Drying cocoa, dark chocolate, toasty oak, with a lingering note of citrus.
