CAMACHO

From the beginning, Camacho cigars have stood for intense pleasure unleashed. These are badass everyday smokes. Full-coloured, all-American in style, these cigars effortlessly deliver full-frontal, all-out flavour – flavour amped up to heights that old-school cigars have never dared climb. If Camacho had a soundtrack it would be loud, loud enough to wake the neighbors and make big dogs howl. We figure, if you’re gonna have a cigar, have a DAMN cigar!

AMERICAN BARREL AGED

Brace yourself for a monumental smoke that welds the essence of true frontier mettle to Camacho’s impenetrable Cuban roots. A cigar that shatters all expectations, pushes every limit and paves the way for a life lived out loud.

With the spirit of America and the soul of a craftsman, Camacho American Barrel-Aged celebrates the hardworking grit of Kentucky bourbon makers and the passionate artistry of our master builders. Challenging convention at every turn.

The filler of these cigars contains a Six-Year-Old Original Corojo, built with rugged American Broadleaf tobaccos. Not only that, each cigar has been aged for 5 months in a Bourbon Barrel in the Dominican Republic.

More Info

American Oak, Cuban Roots, Camacho to the Core. An intense smoke that sets the tone for a life without limits.

Inspired by the uncompromising craftsmanship of Kentucky bourbon makers, Camacho's master builders have blazed new frontiers in complexity. Aging Camacho’s legendary Corojo leaves for six years and then locking them in charred bourbon barrels – a dance with the devil’s cut that leads to rich oaky flavours and sweet bourbon aromas. Wrapped in rare all-American broadleaf, it’s an unforgettable experience that forges the way for infinitely more!

"...A bumpy robusto full of lumps along the entire cigar. First puffs are significantly metallic and brassy but settle down a bit to show minerals, wood and a hint of walnut..."

I was totally surprised by this cigar, great taste and smoke from start to finish, so good I am going to order more when I finish the review. I cant wait to try the other cigars in this range, dont know if its the aging that makes it so good but for me this is a great cigar and I look forward to getting more and smoking them.

Have been looking forward to this one up for a while given some of the previous positive reviews I’ve seen on social media. So last night seemed as good a time as any given that Summer had arrived here in the UK and a long and relaxing late evening herf was on the cards First time trying any Camacho and only doing so because it’d arrived a month or so back as part of the monthly C.gars subscription. Wow, what a find. Beautifully constructed, sporting a dark, almost rustic wrapper and well filled it certainly looked the part. It had been resting in the humi for a couple of months. Opened up with a punch cut, the pre-light draw was slightly nutty. The first couple of draws were slightly unusual , giving an almost sawdust-like texture in the mouth but this quickly gave way to a deliciously smooth and woodsy flavour which lasted across the first third. The second third continued with a smooth and mellow profile with the overall strength picking up somewhat during the final third. The draw was consistently excellent throughout as was the razor sharp burn line. The white ash was an amazing contrast to the chocolate wrapper and was for clinging on if I hadn’t intervened every inch or so. The smoke was very dry on the palate, smoothly and very creamy with a very pleasant ‘old fashioned’ cigar aroma. Overall it was upper-medium in strength and paired perfectly with a shot of Jack Daniels which seemed appropriate given the barrel aging process. Overall this was one fine cigar and offered up a wonderful 90 minute experience. Definitely one to savour properly when you have the time to give it the attention it deserves. Highly recommended, a couple of which I think will now find a regular home in the humidor.

An interesting smoke. Plenty of thick white smoke from an easy draw. Great construction and burn. Some interesting flavours. Given it a five but only as there is no four and a half, that said it only loses the half as it would be fantastic value at just a few pounds less.
