10 years in the making and the new Benriach (the first under the new ownership) is finally here!
A milestone release from Benriach, a classic speyside whisky which is the first core expression comprising spirit produced predominantly since the 2004 takeover by Billy Walker and his consortium.
It's presented at 43% and is matured in ex-bourbon and ex-Sherry casks for a classic Speyside style.
BenRiach fans will not be disappointed with soft and rich notes coming to the fore. Typical sherry notes all also in the mix which all BenRiach fans will be truly excited about.
Nose: A fresh and lively combination of crisp, green orchard fruits as well as stem ginger and hints of tangerine which quickly mellows to creamy vanilla with a delicate note of mint and citrus.
Palate: Warm toasted oak spices flood through apple skins and dried apricots, ripening to hints of peach and soft banana. There is also subtle hints of aniseed and lemon zest.
Finish: The spiciness hangs on, but the overriding character is fresh, clean fruit adding character to the long, crisp barley finish.
