The entry level BenRiach bottling with no age statement, named for the distillery's location in Elgin in Moray at the heart of Speyside.
BenRiach distillery is located in the 'Heart of Speyside', 3 miles south of the town of Elgin, in the North-East of Scotland.
Built by John Duff in 1898, BenRiach is one of the few distilleries with its own on-site maltings, and draws its water from the Burnside Springs.
The BenRiach Heart of Speyside expression cleverly captures fruit, honey, heather and spice notes.
Nose: Fresh nose with soft elements of heather, grass and honey. soft undertones of salt and oak wood with a touch of spice. Very clean.
Palate: Fruity notes, soft and slightly buttery on the palate with once more hints of honey and heather. Tones of oak wood but not overly powerful and a whiff of pepper and soft smoke.
Finish: Stronger in the finish with powerful notes of pepper, sweetened up with a teaspoon of honey.
