The benchmark brand was introduced by Seagrams in 1968, and was produced primarily at their Louisville distillery.
Originally the whisky was offered at both 80 and 86 proof, this is an example of the 86 proof version, bottled in the late 1970s.
The brand was purchased by Sazerac in 1989, who started to produce the brand at Ancient Age (now Buffalo Trace), renaming it McAfee’s Benchmark.
The Seagram's distillery in Louisville closed in 1983.
Please note as this is a vintage whisky, conditions of bottle/label and liquid level can vary.
