The Balvenie Thirty is a rare and especially fine single malt and it is a malt which Malt Master David Stewart selected only exceptional casks that were laid down over thirty years ago.
By doing this and by marrying this Balvenie in slowly aged traditional oak whisky casks with European oak sherry casks, he has managed to create a rich and mellow Scotch whisky with unusual depth and complexity.
'Thirty' is bottled at 47.3% ABV to capture all the signature characteristics of The Balvenie.
A Gold Medal winner at the 2004 International Wine and Spirits Competition.
Nose: Light and perfumed with a gentle development of a delicious floral honey, a slight oily roundness and a touch of allspice.
Palate: Warming and quite rich. More sweet honey develops, this time with a hint of cigar leaf and nutty sherry. All the time though there is an edge of smoke and malty peat.
Finish: Long and aromatic, it is all in the subtlety by which is departs, floral and faintly fruited.
