Ardbeg Ten Years Old is revered around the world as the peatiest, smokiest, most complex single malt of them all!
Yet it does not flaunt the peat; rather it gives way to the natural sweetness of the malt to produce a whisky of perfect balance.
Bottled with a strength of 46%, this Ardbeg is a non chill-filtered whisky meaning the whisky retains all of the original colour, taste and aromas!
This core expression was launched in 2000 and this 5cl bottle makes for a superb introduction to the fantastic 10 year old.
Nose: A ridge of vanilla leads to a mountain of peat capped with fresh citrus fruits and then rounded off with the aroma of sea spray.
Palate: Sweet vanilla is counterbalanced with citrus, lemon and lime followed by the surging Ardbeg smoke that we have all come to know and love.
Finish: Long and stunning; sea salted caramel and beach bonfire smoke complete the glorious finish.
