Introduced in the latter half of 2014, the 18 year old anCnoc single malt Scotch whisky from the Knockdhu distillery has been matured in Spanish oak ex-sherry casks and American oak ex-bourbon barrels.
It has also been bottled in its most natural form, neither chill-filtered nor coloured maintaining it's original colour and characteristics.

Colour: Bronzed amber. Nose: Gentle spices and an intense sweetness of dried fruits are topped off with delicious chocolate notes, vanilla, ripe oranges and oiled leather. Taste: Full-bodied and bold. Aromatic spices, fruit loaf and candied lemon are all followed by a surge of vanilla, honey and caramel. Finish: Long and warming, there is a transformation from peppery and hot to deliciously sweet and smooth.

A whisky that does wonders with some time in the glass. Starting with the fruity AnCnoc character that is shown mostly in the younger expressions, the two years in oloroso casks make themselves known after a few moments, with darker, richer and spicier flavours building but not overpowering. A neat, unfussy whisky with good warmth and a clean, malty flavour.
