Description

LIMITED EDITION 57 / 75

The Dunhill Hansel & Gretel Cumberland Pipe is a homage to the two brothers Grimm who collected some of the best-known folk tales and published them in 1812. German brothers Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm in their first collection of fairy tales, named Children’s and Household Tales, popularised stories in the written form. Some of the tales included were Rapunzel, Little Red Cap, Sleeping Beauty, Little Snow White, Rumpelstiltskin  and, of course, Hansel and Gretel.

The pipe is a classic bent Rhodesian shape in group 4 (4108). It is fitted with a angular band made of 92.5 pure silver. These highly collectable Hansel and Gretel themed pipes are presented in a prestigious leather bound book and come with a numbered and hand-signed limited edition certificate as well as an Certificate of Guarantee.

To match the band, the tamper is made from pure Ag925 Silver that gives it a decent weight. The design is based off of the original image of the two siblings and the evil pagan witch outside the ginger bread house.

This Pipe comes in an White Spot Box, An Hansel & Gretel Book Box With an Dunhill Sleeve and detailed Tamper.

A little history of Alfred Dunhill:

Alfred Dunhill, famous for supplying briar smoking pipes to the most elite clientele in the world since 1904.
He had only two principles that would guide the production of Dunhill Pipes:

Firstly: pipes would be made of only the finest quality briar, with exacting care by expert craftsmen.
Secondly: the pipes would be priced accordingly so that the customer would recognise the value of a product.
The Dunhill pipe is made to last a lifetime. The pipe smokes well and continues to do so with age.

In 1915, the famous white spot pipe range was introduced when customers had trouble knowing which way to insert the handmade vulcanite mouthpieces, In solution of this Alfred Dunhill ordered white spots to be placed on the upper side of the stem. This would now become a trademark of Dunhill pipes and the “white spot” soon became known as a symbol of quality.

This pipe has been individually photographed, so that the pipe you see in the picture is the pipe you will receive.
