The Brothers Grimm - The Town Musicians of Bremen Some of the best known fairy tales known were collected, written down and finally published by the German brothers Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm at the beginning of the 19th century. Among the stories popularized were, among others, Hansel & Gretel, The Frog King, Rapunzel, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and Rumplestiltskin. One of the popular tales with a distinct socio-critical storyline is The Town Musicians of Bremen, first published in Grimms' Fairy Tales in 1819. It is the story of four aging animals - a donkey, a dog, a cat and a rooster - who, after suffering through many years of hard labour for their human masters, decide to run away in order to become town musicians in the free city of Bremen. During their journey towards Bremen, they encounter a group of bandits. They succeed to occupy the bandit’s house, to chase the bandits away and finally decide not to continue to Bremen to become town musicians but to stay together and to live in that house happily ever after for the rest of their days.

Limited Edition Only 30 pieces of this model has been produced worldwide, which is much lower than normal limited editions making this a true collectors piece.

A little history of Alfred Dunhill:

Alfred Dunhill, famous for supplying briar smoking pipes to the most elite clientele in the world since 1904.
He had only two principles that would guide the production of Dunhill Pipes:

Firstly: pipes would be made of only the finest quality briar, with exacting care by expert craftsmen.
Secondly: the pipes would be priced accordingly so that the customer would recognise the value of a product.
The Dunhill pipe is made to last a lifetime. The pipe smokes well and continues to do so with age.

In 1915, the famous white spot pipe range was introduced when customers had trouble knowing which way to insert the handmade vulcanite mouthpieces, In solution of this Alfred Dunhill ordered white spots to be placed on the upper side of the stem. This would now become a trademark of Dunhill pipes and the “white spot” soon became known as a symbol of quality.
