Ainslie's Royal Edinburgh is an infamous blend containing high quantities of Clynelish.
James Ainslie & Co. purchased Brora distillery in 1896. In 1912, the company merged to form Ainslie, Baillie & Co. It merged in to the growing Distiller’s Company in 1926 and became known as Ainslie & Heilbron (Disitllers) Ltd., It remained the licensed proprietor of Brora distillery into the 1980s.
When the distillery closed Ainslie’s blend was discontinued and the name sold off. Brora may form part of the blend.
