A bottle of Aberlour 12 VOHM (Very Old Highland Malt) 100% Malt Scotch whisky.
Aberlour distillery was founded in 1879 by James Fleming at the confluence of the rivers Spey and Lour, with St Drostan's Well as its water source.
When journalist and distilling historian Alfred Barnard visited the distillery in the 1880s, he described it as 'the perfect modern distillery'. Today, Aberlour is owned by Chivas Brothers.
We estimate this was bottled in the 1980s.
Please note as this is a vintage miniature, conditions of bottle/label and liquid level can vary.
Nose: Fruity, almost tropical, with a little oak.
Palate: Mild and well rounded. First comes a barrage of oak, then the fruity flavours set, while then again the nutty oak takes over the word.
Finish: Bittersweet, relatively much wood, nice nutty finish.
