Very complex cigar. I've been a little confused as to why i struggle to even taste some cigars which are known as "medium to full", when this "mild" cigar really gave some powerful flavour to me. When i first lit this and got the first sharp and harsh taste, i predicted i wouldn't enjoy it. After a handful of draws, the harshness faded and an incredibly sweet and creamy texture came through towards the middle third. Towards the end, the sting began to come back and it burned fairly hot fairly early. Despite this, i am definitely inclined to try some of the other family members in this brand and doubt that this is the last KDT Cadete that i buy. I give this 4.5/5.

wow, always impressed by fonseca, but just had a KDT for the first time, been looking for that small smoke to have down the pub, great flavours, even burn, ive now found the one, the elusive everyday smoke, 30 to 40 mins, but has the class of a larger fuller bodied cuban, get yoursef some you wont be disappointed

Just enjoyed this little number in the garden. Construction was very good, with a firm but ever so slightly spongy feel pre-lighting. The draw was spot and the cigar produced lots of smoke for a little boy. The burn was fairly good, any uneven bits sorted themselves out, and a solid ash formed. This is a light cigar, with quite mild and subtle flavours. At first I got toasty notes, then a sweetish (almost honey) flavour began to develop. Unfortunately, the middle half of my stick went quite flat and bland. However, just as I was about to give up on the Cadet it caught my interest again... Flavours emerged that reminded me of Glayva (the whisky liqueur) - perhaps a return of some honey notes. Then, right at the nub I got a blast of woodiness to finish with a bang! All in all, a good cigar which was let down in this instance by a bland middle. Just about scrapes a 4* rating.

A little mild for my taste, but nicely complex, especially in the last third. Hard to pull in the first third, with a mild and creamy flavour that gives way to leather and earth in the second. Draw becomes more satisfying in the second half of this smoke. Not bad for the price, admittedly, but not one that I'll be gracing my humidor with anytime soon. Became a little tarry at the end, but was never particularly hostile. If you have more sensitive taste buds than my own then you should really get off on this, but I'd probably be cautious about mixing it with strong coffee or alcohol...

very good value for money-mild to medium,a long smoke for such a small cigar-has to be well lit,and pierce well,as a pretty tight draw.
