This year’s J. D. Power & Associates European Hotel Guest Satisfaction Index Study revealed that 69 per cent of hotel guests across Europe prefer a non-smoking environment, and 79 per cent of hotel guests in North America would like smoke-free hotels. The lowest group to support smoke-free hotels was 57 per cent of the guests who live in Spain, and the highest group to endorse no-smoking hotels was 76 per cent of British and Swedish travelers. So what about the remaining guests who, it would seem, would still like to book a smoker-friendly room? That’s a lot of people who could book themselves into an alternative hotel that will allow them them the freedom to smoke. Stupid elves.
